If we understand a sheet of Alucoil (a composite made out of aluminium and poliethilene) as a cable (two conductive materials insulated from one another), we can reduce the amount of components needed to design a lamp to a minimum.
Using a 12 volt transformer with a sensitive touch switch, we can guarantee the security of the lamp while doing away with many of the more usual basic elements of a lamp (switch + dimmer, lamp holder, cabling, connections). The result: a functional lamp reduced to its essence.
